Walter W. “Wally” Blank, 85, of Aurora passed away on April 10, 2014. He was born on July 7, 1928 in Aurora, Il the only son of Walter and Lucille (May) Blank. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Wally was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Aurora, 3rd Ward Club and the Tiger Club. He delivered milk for Oberweis Dairy and worked in circulation at the Beacon News for 30 years. He had a passion for working in his yard and enjoyed golfing and bowling. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Gerry, his children, Gary (Robin) Blank and Patty (Bryan) Harbin, grandchildren, Zack, Seth and Alyssa Harbin and sisters, Shirley Wagner and Betty Hauser. He is also survived by Ann and Gary Bohr and their daughters Jess, Missy and Ali whom he treated like his own. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandchildren Rachel, Tanner and Carly Blank.
Family will be receiving guests on Sunday, April 13, 2014 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Dieterle Memorial Home 1120 S. Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL 60538. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 14, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church 620 5th Street, Aurora, IL. Interment will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Aurora, IL.
