Brian Downes

Brian Downes, 53, of Oswego, passed away at his home in Oswego Friday January 5, 2018.  He was born February 15, 1964, in Aurora, IL, son of James and Roseanna (Holtfoerster) Downes.  Brian was an assembler at Caterpillar manufacturing for 17 years. He enjoyed Formula 1 racing, drag racing but most of all spending time with his family and grandchildren.  Brian is survived by his wife of 6 years, Marlene, 1 daughter Amber(Wesley) Mincey, 2 sons, Andrew Akins and Zachary (Amanda) Akins. 1 brother Kevin Downes,  4 sisters, Terry (the late James) Cornelisse, Denise (the late Bill) Chestnut, Caryn (Junior) Collins and Roseann (Peter) Buss .Many nieces, nephews and other relatives.  He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Gene (Sandy) Downes, Jimmy Downes, 1 niece, Courtney Collins and 1 nephew, Michael Downes.  Family will be receiving guests Friday January 12, 2018 from 3:00 pm-7:00 pm at Dieterle Memorial Home 1120 S. Broadway, Montgomery, IL. Funeral mass will be Saturday January 13, 2018 at 12:30 pm at St. Anne Catholic Church, 551 Boulder Hill Pass, Montgomery, IL.
