Deborah "Debbie" Shamblin

Debbie Shamblin, 68, of Aurora, IL,  passed away peacefully surrounded by many family and friends on Friday, March 29, 2024. Loving mother of Jennifer (Angel) Nieves and Christopher (Cynthia) Shamblin. Adored sister of Theresa Tesch. Chosen sister of Mary, Renae and Mary and special brother Art (Susan) Finley. Beloved grandmother of Noel (Cassandra), Aric, Jayden, Ryleigh, Michael, Harper, Nathan, Braydin and Jovell. Cherished aunt of Kristina (Mike), Billy (Caitlin),  Melissa (Alan), William (Jessica), Virgina (Dennis), Alicia, Lisa, Joseph and many other nieces and nephews. Dear daughter in love of Donna Shamblin and sister in love of Marjorie (Ken) Jahde. Devoted Cousin to many. Surrogate mother and grandmother to all who had the honor of knowing her.  

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Anita Feehan and dear friends, Patty and Gale and Kimmy.

Debbie was a devoted sports grandma to her children and grandchildren and attended every game of many different types of sports, never missing one event. She was such a constant presence at these sporting events that she became known as the “sports grandma” to all of the team members on every team. Debbie spent over thirty years as a member of the Aurora sports booster. Her favorite pastime was spending sunny days at the pool, in her flip flops, sun tanning with her friends. Debbie gave undconditional love to everyone who had the honor of knowing her and was always worried about others, even during her own health battles.

Debbie’s family would like to share a special thanks to all of the doctors and nurses at Rush Copley Medical Center for the special care and time they took to get to know Debbie, not only as a patient but also as a friend.

Debbie will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Family will be receiving guests on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 South Broadway, Mongomery, IL 60538. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 10:00am at Dieterle Memorial Home.
