Donald Moore
October 14, 1942 ~ January 3, 2018 (age 75) 75 Years OldDonald Moore, 75, of Montgomery passed away peacefully at his home on January 3, 2018. He was born on October 14, 1942 in Elmhurst, IL the son of Robert and Irma (Loufek) Moore. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Airforce. Don retired from IBM after over 30+ years of dedicated service. He had a passion for gardening and landscaping. He owned and operated B &M Landscaping and was the groundskeeper for the Farnsworth House in Plano. Don was an avid fisherman and traveled to Canada several times on fishing trips. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved his grandsons. He was a jack of all trade and a master of none. He was a handyman who didn’t let go of anything and his famous saying was, “if it’s not broke, don’t fix it”.
He is survived by his children, Lora and Gary Moore; grandchildren, Branden and Ethan Bernier, brother, Jerry Moore and mother-in-law Lorraine Ivory. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Cheryl Moore, and sister Charlotte Pleviak.
Family will be receiving guests on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL 60538. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Dieterle Memorial Home. Interment will be private.
