Dorothy Bachert

Dorothy R. Bachert, 93, of Aurora, IL passed away peacefully on January 31, 2018 at Trinity Center-Luther Park, Des Moines, IA. She was born on March 26, 1924 in Aurora, IL the daughter of Henry and Augusta (Runge) Renner. Dorothy married Warren Bachert on June 10, 1944 in San Angelo, TX and they spent the next 68 years together before his passing in 2015. She was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she served many years on the sanctuary staff. She was also a member of Copley Auxiliary for many years. Hospitality was her gift and she loved to entertain but her greatest gift was being a wonderful wife, mother, and Oma.  

She is survived by her daughter Norma Halling; grandchildren Erik (Sarah) Halling and Timothy (Melissa) Halling; great-grandchildren, Jorja, Jackson, Tess and Matthew Warren. She is also survived by her brother and sister- in- law Ray and Marge Bachert and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Warren, brother, Wilbert Renner and sisters Bernice Wagner and Lorraine Wilhelm and many other dear relatives.

Family will be receiving on Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 85 S. Constitution, Aurora, IL. Interment will follow at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Montgomery, IL. Memorials can be made in her honor to St. Paul Lutheran Church or Lutheran Bible Translators.
