Elijio "Eli" Martinez, Jr.

Elijio “Eli” Martinez, Jr., 31, of Aurora, IL passed away on April 2, 2024. He was born on September 17, 1992 in Aurora, IL the son of Elijio Martinez, Sr. and Melissa Ybarra.

Eil was a devout and faithful servant and could always be found with his Bible.  He had a loving and kindred spirit and always put others in front of himself. He enjoyed the outdoors and all things nature, he had a passion for music and loved to DJ. Above all things, he loved God and his family and he will be dearly missed by all.

He is survived by his mother who adored him, Melissa Tejeda and father Elijio Martinez; siblings, Antonio Luna and Jacob and Francisco Tejeda; best friend and fiancé Sarah Thompson; Sarahs parents Bill and Jennifer Thompson who loved him like their own; beloved little nieces Ily and Amadi and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his stepfather Francisco “Poncho” Tejeda; maternal grandparents, Gloria Herrera and Pedro Ybarra; paternal grandfather Hipolito Martinez, Sr., and uncle Hipolito Martinez, Jr.

Family will be receiving guests on Monday April 15, 2024 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL 60538. Burial will take place at Spring Lake Cemetery, Aurora, IL.
