Elodia H. Garcia

Elodia H. Garcia, 81, of Aurora passed away on October 19, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was born on January 18, 1936 in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico the daughter of Jose Angel and Josephine (Mendoza) Hernandez. She had a passion for cooking, sewing and gardening. She had a caring and loving heart and opened her home making friends and family always feel welcome. Her greatest accomplishment was being a mother to her five children and throughout life she considered this her greatest role.

She is survived by her children, Maria (Ernesto) Santiago, Rene (Maria) Garcia, Graciela (Martin) Soto and Maricela Garcia; grandchildren, Vanessa, Isabelle, and Sophie Santiago, Adrian, Israel and Nathan Soto and Elleana Garcia; sisters, Eva Hernandez and Maria Hurtado as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; adoring husband Guadalupe and son Guadalupe Jr.

Family will be receiving guests on Monday, October 23, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL 60538. Funeral service will be on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Dieterle Memorial Home and interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Montgomery, IL.
