Gerald "Jerry" E Neely

Gerald E. Neely, 84, of Montgomery, IL passed away on September 22, 2017 surrounded by family. He was born on March 13, 1933 in Maywood, IL the son of Clifford and Pearl (Long) Neely. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Army. He worked for Jewel Foods and retired after over 30 years of dedicated service. Jerry was a diehard Chicago Cubs and Bears fan, he loved to play tennis and golf but above all, he loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife Peggy, daughters Sandy (Greg) Hoffman, Sharon (Bob) Cimino, and Denise (Kevin) Madsen; grandchildren, Samantha and Allison Hoffman, Jake (Vinette) Cimino, Alyssa (Justin) Jarczyk, Dominic (Diana) Cimino, Kyle Cimino and Josh Madsen. He is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren and brother, Bill (Carolyn) Neely.

He is preceded in death by his wife Frances of 49 years, grandson Alec Madsen, sister Anne Bauer and brother Clifford “Bud” Neely.

Family will be receiving guests on Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL 60538. Interment will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at a later date.
