Harry William Minard, 74, of North Aurora, passed away Wednesday June 7, 2017 at Presence Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, IL.  Harry was born December 11, 1942, son of Harry L. and Marion (Berger). He proudly served in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War.  Harry was employed at Lyon Metal in Aurora, where he was a mechanic for over 35 years.  Harry’s favorite hobby was fishing; whether it was fresh water or salt water; you would always find a rod and reel in his hand. Harry took an early retirement, then enjoyed helping others and working on small engines. He was also an avid Chicago Bears fan; even if the score was 35-0 he would say, “They still have a chance”!  He was also a friend and mentor of Bill W. for 41 years and at that time of his life, he chose to become a humble servant  serving God and others.  Harry is survived by his wife of 35 years; Kay, 4 daughters, Faith Ann (Jake) Does, Sherry Rae (David) Breese, Deanna Lee Minard, and Jani Jo Lee (Finance’ Glen Anderson).  9 Grandchildren; Larry Franklin, Carly Rae Brown,  David Bester, Richard Bester, William (Bianca) Bester, Myles Negron, Paul Garza, Rachel Messacar and Michael Messacar. 5 great  grandchildren; Grace Bester, Cheyenne Bester, Charleigh Bester, Sofia Bester and Aidalyz Negron.  Harry is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Carol Gale, Joy Channel, and 2 twin grandsons, Zachery and Jeremy Brown. A memorial service to celebrate Harry’s life will take place at a later date.
