Hazel M. Amy

Hazel M. Amy, 68, of Aurora, IL, went to be with Jesus on Friday, March 29, 2024.

Beloved wife of Vern Amy Sr.; Cherished mother of Vernon “Rob” Amy Jr. (Alisa) and Audrey D. Amy. Devoted grandmother of Madison, Makayla and Josh. Loving pup mom of her boys, Sherman and Louie.

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, Robert F. Smith Sr. and Lorenen Mae Richmond-Smith and siblings, Sharon Dumas and Robert F. Smith Jr.

Hazel was a Boy Scout unit commissioner for over twenty years during which time she earned many awards. She was also a devoted longtime member for almost 50 years at Saint Olaf Lutheran Church. Hazel was a loyal employee of Steven's Cleaners for eighteen years. Her favorite color was purple and her favorite pastimes included doing word puzzles and collecting teddy bears. She was very proud of her Cherished Teddies collection.

Hazel will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024 at 10:00am Riverside Cemetery, 414 North River Street, Montgomery, IL 60538.

A memorial service will be held in Hazel’s honor on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 11:00am at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, 1233 Douglas Avenue, Montgomery, IL 60538.
