Jack Dee Gates

Jack D. Gates, 86, of Montgomery, IL born on December 16, 1937 peacefully left to be with the Lord on March 13, 2024 at his residence in Mesa, AZ.  Jack worked as a service manager for years for numerous dealerships in the area until his retirement and then worked as a handyman for many years thereafter.

Jack was an avid fan of auto racing and was the crew chief for his brother Jim during his racing career. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife and spending time with his family.  He loved to sing and sang in many church choirs. 

He is survived by his brother James “Jim” (Ginger) Gates, his son Scott (Pamela) Gates, daughter Jill Gates Dillon, son-in-law Kelly Dillon (fiancé Sandy), grandchildren Samantha (Alex) Klang, Joshua Dillon, Kayla (Scott) Horne, Courtney (the late Taylor) Zeldin, great grandchildren Riley Dillon-Johnson, Hollis Klang and Carson Horne.

He was preceded in death by his wife Linda (Wolf) Gates, his parents Wayne Gates and Pearl (Jacobson) Gates.

A private service will be held with Dieterle Memorial Home and Lincoln Memorial Park.
