She enjoyed reading, bowling, baking, sewing, knitting and cooking. Most of all, she loved her family unconditionally. She was a long time member of Harvest New Beginnings Church and the Prime Timer’s Sunday School Class at Harvest New Beginnings. Survivors include her husband Ernest Deane Rieckert; Laurie (Steve) Allen of Yorkville, Julie (Craig) Dean of Yorkville, Joel (Kim) Rieckert of Yorkville, Darrin (Brenda) Rieckert of Serena, twelve grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, sister-in-laws Muriel Tutt and Barbara Ammer, many nieces and nephews and her dearest special friend Jean Pencyek. .She was preceded in death by her grandson, Robert D. Rieckert, brothers Luvern, Forest, Merle, Robert and Jerry Tutt and one sister Dorothy Fletcher. She married the one and only love of her life, at the age of 16, Ernest Deane Rieckert on August 9, 1952 at First Presbyterian Church in Aurora. Shortly after their marriage, Ernest was drafted into the United States Army. She put their belongings into storage, took her last check from her job at the factory in Aurora, got on a bus and followed him to Monterey Bay, California to be with him while he was in boot camp. Upon his discharge, JoAnn took care of him, their children and grandchildren for the next 65 plus years while working various jobs as well. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be dearly missed and remembered by all who had the pleasure to know her! See you in Heaven JoAnn. Your Loving Family! Many thanks to the staff at Hillside Nursing Home in Yorkville and the staff at Kindred Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wounded Warriors or a Children’s Hospital of your choice.
