Katherine J Balchunas

Katherine J. Balchunas, 68, of Aurora, IL passed away surrounded by her loving family on May 18, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. After 17 years she is reunited with her beloved husband Robert and they will now spend their eternal life together. She was born on April 30, 1949 in Aurora, IL the daughter of Jack and Rae (Jackson) Colwell. On September 22, 1972 she and Robert were united in marriage. Kathy was a huge animal lover, she enjoyed crocheting, was an avid reader, and she thoroughly enjoyed gardening, coin collecting, and watching baseball. Above all things her greatest joy was her family and especially her adored grandson, Owen. Her carefree and loving spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children; Anthony (Deena) Balchunas, Kelly (Doug) Buell and Robert Balchunas; grandson, Owen; siblings, Linda Draves, Cheryl(Barry Morehouse) Land, and David (Kathy) Colwell. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Robert.

Family will be receiving guests on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 from 3:00 PM until the time of service at 6:00 PM at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL 60538. Interment will be private.
