Rafael Ochoa

Rafael M. Ochoa, 77, of Aurora passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on January 8, 2018. He was born in Zape Chico, Durango, Mexico on October 24, 1940 the son of Canuto and Ramona (Marungo) Ochoa. Rafael loved fishing, gardening, singing, and playing the guitar. He had a passion for cooking and was well known for his Chicharrones and Menudo. He was a loving husband and devoted father and grandfather and he will be deeply missed by his family.

He is survived by his wife of 50years, Manuela; children, Rosa Barraza, Elvira (Adam) Zamora, Maribel (Mohammad)Gharib, Manuel (Tricia) Ochoa, Mireya (Fausto) Robles and Rafael (Karina) Ochoa, Jr.; 13 grandchildren;2 great-grandchildren and brothers Angel and Cheno Ochoa. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.

Family will be receiving guests on Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Nicholas Catholic Church 308 High Street, Aurora, IL. Interment will follow at Spring Lake Cemetery, Aurora, IL.
