Robert G. Overstreet Jr.

Robert G. Overstreet Jr., 75, of Aurora passed away peacefully on February 9, 2018. He was born on August 23, 1942 in Aurora, IL the son of Robert and Pauline (Bridge) Overstreet. In 1961 he graduated from Batavia High School and went on to proudly serve his country with the U.S. Army during Vietnam.  On May 7, 1966 he was united in marriage to Wendeline Merk, they spent the next 51 years together. Bob was a beloved Shop Teacher at East Aurora High School for many years where he touched the lived of many students.   He is survived by his beloved wife Wendeline; children, Wendeline S. (the late Craig) Kerchner and Robert (Cynthia) Overstreet, sister, Karen (Jack) Bush, six grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and three God children. He is also survived by dear friends Fred and Jill Fox.  He is preceded in death by his parents, son Joel E. Overstreet, brother Bruce Overstreet and great-grandson Ezekiel A. Martinson.Family will be receiving guests on Friday, February 23, 2018 from 4:00 PM until the time of service at 6:00 PM at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 27 S. Edgelawn Ave, Aurora, IL 60506. A burial will take place at Lincoln Memorial Park in the Spring. Memorial contributions can be made to the family for a memorial that will be established.
