Wayne L Matkin

Wayne L. Matkin, 85, of Aurora, IL passed away on December 28, 2017. He was born in Mississippi on January 30, 1932 the son of Earl and Ruby Matkin. On June 30, 1950 he married Peggy Coltharp and they spent the next 68 years together. He worked for Vendo for 28 years and retired from All Steel after several years of dedicated service. Wayne was a championship raccoon hunter. He attended First Apostolic Church in Aurora for many years.

He is survived by his wife Peggy; children, Larry, Dorothy Jane, and Danny Joe Matkin; granddaughters, Lynsey and Jennifer and great-grandchildren Henry and Jackson. He is also survived by his sister Sarah Salesky and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Family will be receiving guests on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL 60538. Funeral will be on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Dieterle Memorial Home. Interment will follow at Lincoln Memorial Park, Aurora, IL.
