Alfonso Rubio of Oswego, IL formally of Aurora, IL was born the youngest child to Alfonso Sr. and Estela Rubio (née Gonzalez) on December 31st, 1977 in Durango, MX. At three years of age he migrated to the U.S with his family and his parents chose Aurora, IL as their permanent home.
Junior, as his family and friends referred to him, quickly acclimated and made many friends here.
Junior met and married Sylvia (nee Zaragoza) and within time, followed the blessing of their two sons, Alejandro (Alex) and Alfonso III (Ponchis). Junior lived his life as a devoted husband, father, and family man. Junior strived to be the best example to his family by way of his actions and emulate kindness, empathy, respect, resilience, patience, have a giving and helpful heart and to love and be accepting of everyone he crossed paths with regardless of who they were and their differences. Junior often expressed how proud he was of his sons and enjoyed watching them becoming good young gentlemen.
Junior’s spirit will live on within his big family and friends who love him. He will be fondly remembered for his playful sense of humor, his thoughtful ways, and the manner in which he cared for others.
He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Sylvia; their two sons, Alex and Ponchis; His sweet mother, Estela, who he loved and adored; His eldest brother, Saul (Claudia); and four sisters, Francis (Oscar), Cristina (Ruben), Letty (Tomas), and Blanca.
He also leaves a void in the hearts of his second family, who love him very much and adopted him as a son and brother of their own: father and mother in law, Salvador and Socorro Zaragoza; brother in laws, Sal (Juliana) and Adrian; and his sister in laws, Alejandra (Aashish) and Gaby (Luis).
He will also be remembered fondly as loving Tio Junior, who shared time creating fun experiences, loving them and being a kid alongside combined family of eleven nieces and eleven nephews; Yvette (Rolando), Jessica, Cynthia, Crystal (Ben), Lili, Alejandra, Amaya, Tori, Isabel, Andrea, Melanie, and Mariana, Saul Jr., Ruben, Gerardo, Aiden, Daniel, Diego, Victor, Dominic, Luis, Nathan, and Cristian.
He was preceded in death by his beloved father and greatest example, Alfonso Rubio Sr.
Sylvia, Alex, and Ponchis on behalf of Junior would like to express their sincere heartfelt sentiment of gratitude to their entire family and friends who supported them during their difficult journey.
