In 1955, Angel and his best friend Benito Chapa decided to move to Illinois searching for a better life. He met his future wife, Mary Rangel who he married on January 19, 1958.

Angel started his career in Aurora as a barber in the late 60’s and opened up Balderas Barber and Beauty Salon with his wife. In the late 70’s Angel and his wife started their new career in Real Estate and later opened up their own brokerage in Aurora - Balderas Real Estate.

Ten years ago, Angel received the call we all were waiting for. On a Saturday morning the Loyola Medical Transplant Center called and gave Angel the good news that they had a kidney waiting for him. “Get to the hospital right away, you're getting a working kidney.” they said. Since then, Angel rededicated his life to the Lord, Jesus Christ.

Angel always prayed for his siblings, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. For the past six months he talked about his life after death. He expressed his excitement to eventually walk those heavenly streets of gold and reunite with his lovely wife, Mary, and his parents.  All four of his children were at his bedside as he departed peacefully.
