Betty Watson

Betty R. Watson, 83, of Aurora, IL passed away quietly in her sleep on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Provena Mercy Center Hospital in Aurora, IL.  She was the daughter of Addie Zanders of Vickersburg, MI. Betty was born on December 4, 1934 in Bovina, Mississippi.   After graduating from Bowman High School, she migrated to Aurora where she met her husband of 35 years, Odell Watson and raised her 3 children. Betty worked as a caregiver for both Mercy and Copley hospitals early in her working career.  She moved on to find employment at Armor Dial in Montgomery, IL where she worked for 20 years until her retirement.  She was a member of Main Baptist Church where she served the Lord faithfully and was active on the Mother’s Board until the Lord called for her. Betty is survived by her son, Kerry O. (Beverly) Watson of Aurora, IL; her grandchildren, April (Zack), Ta’Kara, Dwayne Jr., Shay, Nytasha, Kerry Jr, Shaun and Sidney;  7 great grandchildren and special granddaughter, Zakeya; special niece Janet Payne Hughes and a special cousin Evangelist Shirley Davis. She was preceded in death by her mother, Addie Zanders; her husband, Odell “Joe” Watson; her brother, Leslie H. Jones; daughter, Lucy Watson and son Dwayne Watson.  There will be no services.
