Amber L. “Butch” Jensen, 87, of Newark, IL., passed away Saturday November 24, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 14, 1931, in Aurora, IL, son of Edward and Sadie (Miller) Jensen. He was employed at Vendo Stoner for 5 years, before being inducted in the United States Army during the Korean War; serving for 2 years active duty with the Army Corps of Engineers, and then another 7 years in the reserves. At the conclusion of the Korean War, Amber returned to Vendo Stoner where he worked for another 10 years. After his employment at Vendo Stoner, he worked as a Storage Controlman at Caterpillar for 30 years. Butch was also involved in his father-in-law Harold’s family business; Thiess United Show Carnivals; on the set up and teardown crew. He was also a Boy Scout Troop Leader for Troops 10 and 66. Butch enjoyed birdwatching, gardening and puzzles. Butch is survived by 1 son, Michael (Elizabeth), 1 daughter Laurie (Rex) Jackson, 6 grandchildren, Kimberly (Eric) Roberts, Jennifer (Troy) Turner, Jody (Ron) Johnson, Kara (Ryan) Youngberg, Rex Everett Jackson, Michael Jensen Jr.. 7 great grandchildren, Hailee, Owen, Blake, Kaitlyn, Charlee, Sophia, Theodore; one sister, Joy Tinsley; and one brother, Arthur (Donna); and close friend Janet Jensen. He is preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother Edward “Eddie”, 2 sisters, Charlotte (the late Jay) Colley, Sarah (the late William) Mosher, 1 son Robert, and 1 granddaughter Kelly Jensen. Family will be receiving guests Thursday November 29, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway, Montgomery. Funeral Services Friday November 30, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the funeral home.  Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Montgomery.
