Charlene Hickey

M. Charlene Hickey, 78 of Conroe, Texas; formerly of Sandwich, IL, passed away Tuesday November 14, 2023 at The Landing at Woodland Lakes in Conroe, Texas. She was born March 29, 1945 in New Albany, Mississippi; daughter of Rubert and Mildred (Henderson) Jernigan. Charlene worked at Western Electric for 5 years after graduating Aurora West High School and was a licensed cosmetologist for 30 years. She enjoyed working with crafts, cooking but most of all Charlene enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Richard, a son, Scott(Robin), 2 daughters; Mechelle (Dave) Kruse, Elizabeth (Ryan) Oram, 6 grandchildren; Davis (Jen) Hickey, Kelsey (Sam) Hoster, Jenna (Brittani) Hickey, Hadley (Josh) Gengler, Grace and Clara Oram. 5 great grandchildren; Halle, Braxton, Henley, Baker, Addison and 3 brothers; Jerry (Cookie), Tommie (Sara) and Mike. Many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Charlene is preceded in death by her parents. Family will be receiving guests Tuesday November 21, 2023 from 10am until time of service at 1pm at Dieterle Memorial Home 1120 S. Broadway in Montgomery. Burial will take place immediately following at Lincoln Memorial Park in Aurora.
