Charles Powell

Charles B. Powell, 82, of Aurora, Passed away at Rush Copley Medical Center March 6, 2018. He was born February 6, 1936, son of James and Bertha (Glass) Powell. For 15 years Chuck and his brother, Elton owned and operated ERC Installers, installing roofs and siding. After closing the business he was a Union Carpenter, Local #1027. He was a carpenter most of his life, his longest employment was at Tri- County Builders where he was a supervisor for over 15 years.  His greatest joy was being with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed watching the Cubs on TV, and he also coached his sons Cub Scouts baseball team, and coached Little League. He is survived by 2 sons, Randy Duane (Carolyn) and Charles Richard “Rick” and girlfriend Garnetta; 7 grandchildren, Jason (Lindsay),  Amy, Ashley, Brian, Brittany, Zachary and Cody; 6 great grandchildren,  Kevin, Kyle, Emily, Jackson, Naomi and Noah; 2 brothers, Elton (the late Corena) and Billy Joe (the late Pauline).  He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Louise, his son Elton Scott, and many brothers, sisters and other relatives. Family will be receiving guests Monday, March 12, 2018 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Dieterle Memorial Home 1120 S. Broadway, Montgomery, IL 60538.  Funeral Services will be Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 10:00 am at Dieterle Memorial Home.  Interment – Lincoln Memorial Park, Aurora.
