It is with great sadness that we say goodbye for now to our beloved Clarence Dwain Green of Montgomery, IL as he went to join his Heavenly Father on Sunday, May 8th, 2022. He passed peacefully with his wife of 62 years, Barbara at his side. He was also surrounded by his son, Mitchell (Genie) Green and his Pastor Ken (Debbie) Holt. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Green, his sons Mitchell (Genie) Green and Rodney (Tracy) Green, 5 grandchildren, Jordan Green, Jacob Green, Joshua (Lysbet) Zimmerman, Jeremiah (Cassidy) Zimmerman, Ryan (Diane) Green and 4 great-grandchildren, Roxie Mae Zimmerman, Layne Michael Zimmerman, Tucker Reed Zimmerman.
Dwain was preceded in death by his parents, Virgie Mae and Clarence Green, Siblings Wesley “Pee-wee (Lois) Green, Jean (Cecil) Kendricks, Marie (Garvin) Starks, Annie (Oliver) Rogers, and grandson Brent Lee Green.
Dwain was a simple and honest man who loved fiercely and forgave with passion. Born on October 18th, 1941 and leaving us on Mother’s Day, he gave us 80 years of joy and memories for which we are eternally grateful. He never knew a stranger and showed us the kind of person we should strive to be.
Visitation will be on Thursday, May 12, 2022 from 5:00 until the time of service at 7:30 p.m. at Dieterle Memorial Home 1120 S. Broadway, Montgomery, IL. Graveside Service will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 13, 2022 at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude’s or Shriner’s hospital.
