Cristian S. Medrano

Cristian, at 27 years old, was a cherished individual from Aurora, IL, who left us on April 12, 2024. Born on July 12, 1996, in Aurora, IL to Clarissa Dieppa and Sergio Medrano, Cristian achieved his high school graduation from Waubonsie Valley High School in 2014. Subsequently, he obtained his bachelor's degree from Aurora University and realized his lifelong aspiration of serving as a firefighter after college. Joining the Aurora Fire Department in March 2024 and stationed at Station 1, Cristian embraced his new role with immense passion, despite the brevity of his time there.
 

Cristian's interests spanned culinary arts, particularly cooking and baking, earning him the title of a proud "foodie." He delighted in exploring numerous eateries and coffee shops, offering his discerning critiques. Exploring new destinations and making new memories with his family brought immense joy to Cristian. Among his favorite travel experiences were visits to Colombia and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where he savored the beauty of these locales and the time spent with loved ones. Outside of work, he found joy in golfing and engaging in board games, with Monopoly holding a special place in his heart.

Above all, Cristian adored his family, finding immense value in the time spent with them. Survived by his parents, Clarissa Dieppa and Sergio Medrano; sister, Alexis (Joshua) Vargas; brother, Mykol (Selena) Dieppa; longtime girlfriend, Savanah Zbinden; nephew and Godson, Thiago Vargas; maternal grandparents, Rita Ramos and Alfonso (Socorro) Dieppa - Cristian's presence will be deeply missed. 

Additionally, he is survived by his longtime best friends that were like family to him, Erick Cepeda and Michelle Yague, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his friends and family. He loved hard and if you knew him, you knew it. 

As family and friends gather to pay their respects, the visitation for Cristian will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, from 3:00 PM until the service commences at 7:00 PM. A poignant moment is expected as the Aurora Fire Department conducts a walk-through at 6:45 PM, honoring Cristian's dedication to their cause.
