Debra S. Holmes

Debra S. Holmes, 70, of Ottawa, IL formerly of Oswego and Yorkville, passed away on May 16, 2023. She was born on June 4, 1952 in Pennsylvania, the daughter of Boyd and Helen (Gubash) Thompson. Debra worked at Nabisco/Kraft Inc and retired after over 30 years of dedicated service. 

Debra had a deep love for traveling. She had a true passion for Disney and Cruising. She traveled often and was always ready to book the next trip. She indulged in reading, going shopping, playing board games and racing to finish a puzzle. Above all things she adored her family and friends and making memories with them. 

She will be dearly missed by all.

She is survived by her children; Matthew Holmes and Jacquelyn (Fiancé Kyle Reichenbach) Holmes; grandchildren, Ellyana, Grayson, Flynn and Harrisyn; brother, John (Karen) Thompson and sister-in-law Eva Thompson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, David Holmes, step-daughter, Sandy Olberg and brother, Carl Thompson.

Family will be receiving guests on Friday, May 26, 2023 from 4:00 PM until the time of service at 7:00 PM at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL 60538. Interment will be private.
