Donald K. Hammond, 98, of Montgomery, IL passed away Friday, January 29, 2021 at his home. He was born August 28, 1922 in Roanoke, IL, the son of John and Etta (Grafelmann) Hammond. Don graduated from East Aurora High School in 1940. He was united in marriage in 1948 to Lydia Krahn. He was employed at Lyon Metal Products for 43 years, during that time he served in the US Army in Europe during WWII. He retired in 1983 from Lyon Metal. Don played baseball in his younger years and was an avid golfer and bowler.
He is survived by 2 sons, Jeff (Rita) Hammond of Sheridan and Jim Hammond of Montgomery; 1 granddaughter, Samantha Hammond of Davenport, Iowa; 1 brother, Jack (Lois) Hammond of Montgomery and numerous nieces and nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lydia; 2 brothers, Leroy and Vern and 2 sisters, Wanda Meyer and Shirley Bachert.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 85 S. Constitution Dr. Aurora, IL
