January 30, 1923 ~ February 27, 2018 (age 95) 95 Years OldDonald Clinton Hills “Bud”, age 95, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 with his family by his side. He was born January 30, 1923. He is survived by his four daughters, and one son, Patricia (Gary) Strong, Donna (Richard) Manning, both of Birchwood, WI., Donald L. (Pamela) Hills of Rogersville, TN., Deborah (Franklyn) Powell and Danette (Bill) Deligiannis, both of Aurora, IL; one brother, Richard (Gertrude) Hills of Montgomery, IL; fifteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Doris Madeline Hills (Dickens); his parents, Clinton B. Hills and Amanda Hills (Olson); two sisters, Jeanne Mortvedt and Betty Stallman; one brother, Howard Hills; and one great-great-grandson, Tylor.
Mr. Hills was a Navy Veteran of World War II. He was a volunteer Fireman with the Moecherville and Countryside Fire Department, serving for 40 years from Private to eventually becoming Chief of the Department, retiring in 1980 and served as Trustee for the Department. He also served as President of the Kane County Fireman’s Association and President of the Kane County Fire Chief’s Association. Don was a former employee of the CB&Q Railroad, Barber-Greene Co., and Kelly’s Hardware.
Family will be receiving guests on Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway, Montgomery, IL 60538. Funeral Service will be Friday at 10:00 AM at Dieterle Memorial Home. Interment will follow at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery.
