Elton L. Powell, 90, passed away September 4, 2021 at Seasons Hospice in Naperville, surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 13, 1941 in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee; son of James and Bertha Lee (Glass) Powell. Elton proudly served in the United State Marine Corp as an ammunitions runner during the Korean Conflict. He was the owner of ERC Installers with his brother Chuck for 20 years. Elton enjoyed politics, fishing, sports; including the St. Louis Cardinals Baseball team and The Green Bay Packers. He is survived by a daughter Angela (Jeff) Powell-Berger, a brother, Billy Joe and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Elton is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 57 years, Corena, 4 brothers; Thomas Chester, JC, his twin brother Delton and Chuck. 3 sisters; Clara Newton, Inez, Velma and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Family will be receiving guests Fri September 10, 2021 from 10am until time of service at 12pm at Dieterle memorial Home 1120 S. Broadway, Montgomery. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Montgomery.
