Gene Seifrid

Gene A. Seifrid, age 78, passed away on Friday, March 23, 2018. He was a building engineer at Edward Hospital in Naperville and retired after 30+ years. Gene is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Joan; two daughters, Sue (Donald) Higgens, of Pennsylvania, and Susan Hickey of North Carolina; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Caryl Johnson; and many wonderful extended family and friends, especially favorite neighbor, Val and favorite dog, Charlie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hank and Norma Seifrid; brother, Rudy Janz; and son, David Hickey. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2018 from 9:30 AM until the time of Service at 11:00 AM at Bethany of Fox Valley United Methodist Church, 2200 Ridge Rd., Aurora, IL. 630-851-8090. Luncheon immediately following at the church. Interment will be at 2:30 PM at Warrenville Cemetery, Warrenville, IL. Memorial contributions can be made to the Kidney Foundation or to Joan M. Seifrid.
