Gerald M. Hosler, 83, of Montgomery passed away on December 10, 2017 after a brief illness. He was born on June 7, 1934 in Aurora, IL the son of George and Lillian (Hardin) Hosler. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Marine Corp and was lifetime member of the American Legion Post 84 in Aurora. Jerry played the saxophone with the legion band for over 40 years. He was a longtime member of the Chicago Carpenters Union 1889 and was a local carpenter for many years.

He is survived by his son Scott (Carol) Hosler; grandchildren, Catherine Hosler, Michael Hosler, Jennifer (Michael) Eichorst, and Ryan and Scott Clay; great-grandchildren, Natalie, Emma and Benjamin. He is also survived by his brother Lyle (Sharon) Hosler and sisters-in-law Ann Hosler and Martha Fitzgerald as well as several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Patricia, son Stephen, 2 brothers Donald and Wayne Hosler and nephew Keith Hosler.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in his honor to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society at www.nationalmssociety.org
