Gilberto Zepeda

Gilberto Zepeda, 72, of Aurora, IL passed away on August 22, 2020.  He was born on May 7, 1948 in Aurora, IL the son of Andres Zepeda Sr. and Rosa (Gonzales).  Gilberto had a heart of gold and would help anyone in need.  He will forever be remembered as the life of the party.  He loved his music and his dancing shoes were always on. Above all things Gilberto loved his family unconditionally, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant the world to him. The unbreakable bond he shared with his daughter was like no other, she was the apple of his eye and the 2 of them always looked after one another. His loving spirit will be sorely missed and his legacy will live on in each of the lives he touched.

He is survived by his daughter Angela (Scott) Nelson; his son, David Zepeda; granddaughters, Stephanie (Brad) Pozzi and Melissa Nelson; great grandchildren McKenzie, Gianna & Fiona and siblings, Juan (Sally) Zepeda, Maria Elena Garza, Frank (Aurora) Zepeda, Pedro “Pinky” (Patsy Ann) Zepeda, sister-in-law Christina Zepeda and former wife Bonnie Vargas. Many nieces and nephews also survive him. His parents, brother Andres Zepeda Jr., a nephew Andres Zepeda III and a niece Gloria Garza, precede him in death.

Family will be receiving guests on Thursday, August 27, 2020 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL 60538. A private graveside service will take place at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Aurora, IL.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the family for a memorial that will be established.
