Goldie M. Horn

Goldie M. Horn (nee Kruthaupt), 93, of Rockford, IL formerly of Joliet, IL passed away Monday, August 23, 2021 at River Bluff Nursing Home in Rockford. She was born in Rochester, IL on September 25, 1927.

Goldie was a member of Women of the Moose #300 of Joliet, chairman of the year Women of the Moose, #1127 Apache Junction, AZ. 2010-2011, the Joliet Elks Cub #296. She received the Outstanding Resident Award for the Joliet Housing Authority on November 19, 1994.

She is survived by one son, John (Donna) Horn of Joliet; two granddaughters, Kimberly R. (Peter) Stevens of Appleton, WI, and Michelle L. (Brian) Holdiman of Yorkville, IL; two great-granddaughters, Madelyn Stevens and Abigail Stevens both of Appleton, WI; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth W. Horn of 48 years on July 15, 1994; her parents, Ben Kruthaupt and Ida B. Osborn; five brothers, William, Edward, Raymond, Pete, and Fred; and two sisters, Irma and Clara.

Committal Services will be held Friday, August 27, 2021 at 12:00 PM (noon) at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery Interment Chapel in Joliet, IL. Donations in Goldie’s name may be made to Mooseheart, Batavia, IL. Arrangements were entrusted to Dieterle Memorial Home in Montgomery, IL.
