Gregory Peterson

Gregory Peterson, 69, of Montgomery, IL, passed away June 17, 2021 in Aurora, IL. He was born May 23, 1952 in Glen Ellyn, IL, the son of Elanore and Curtis Peterson.

Greg worked as a Forest Ranger for the Dupage County Forest Preserve for 29 years, retiring in 2004. An NIU graduate, he later attended Charis Bible college for two years and was a very active member of Oswego Family Church. His daily focus was his relationship with Jesus Christ. After retirement, Greg worked as a customer representative at SID’s Garden Nursery, plowed snow for SnowGo, and started a small business with his son, Ryan, called JRG Landscaping. He also enjoyed playing racquetball and you could always find him on the golf course.

Greg is survived by his wife, Janet, and her children; Tim (Paula) Duy [and their children, Tyler Hamrin, Eliana Duy, and Makayla Duy], Tina (Jeff) Lumbert [and their children, Megan and Melanie Lumbert], Pam Gilbert [and her children, Kylie Konrad, Taryn Gilbert, and Trace Gilbert], and Michelle Duy. His sons; Ryan Peterson, Kyle (Adair) Peterson [and their children, Kalin and Ethan Peterson], Kurt (Joanna) Peterson [and their son, Alec Peterson], and Aaron (Sydney) Peterson [and his children, Kennedy and Sullivan Peterson]. His three brothers, three sisters, and many more extended family members.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Elanore and Curtis Peterson; and his sister, Marie Wagner.

Family will be receiving guests on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 from 4:00 PM until time of service at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL 60538. A Funeral Service will take place at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 also at Dieterle Memorial Home. Interment is private.
