Irene T. Engeln

Irene T. Engeln, 95, of Grayslake and formerly of Montgomery, Illinois, passed away on August 3, 2022. She was born in Chicago on August 15, 1926, the daughter of Marie and Frank Debrauwere. She was a devoted mother of 6 and dedicated time and effort to the Catholic Church.

Irene is survived by George (Denise Stewart) Engeln, Jr., Diane (Russ) Kyncl, Susan (Kirby) Wagner, Jeanette (Dan) Miller, Joseph and Carole; her sister, Josephine Bout, also survives her passing. She also has 9 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, George Engeln, Sr.; sister, Blanche Botterbush; and brother, Remi.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 10:30 AM at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 925 Sard Avenue, Aurora, Illinois. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, 414 N. Riverside St., Montgomery, Illinois.
