Ivan E. Logan

Ivan Earl Logan, age 84 of Aurora, died on January 25, 2018.
Ivan was born in Indiana and grew up on a farm. While serving in the Navy, he married Doyle Spear on November 25, 1953. Ivan went to Southern Illinois University's technical school, where he earned an associate degree, and then went on to work for Caterpillar Inc. in Montgomery for 30 years as a tool designer. He also worked part time for Lindoo building maintenance for 40 years and had a snow plow business where he plowed for churches, the Aurora Public Library, and for the city of Aurora. Ivan often referred to snow as "pennies from heaven."

Ivan was a long-time resident of Montgomery. He built an apartment building in 1967 and lived there for 47 years. In his spare time, Ivan enjoyed riding his Goldwing motorcycle, and traveling.  He was able to visit all 50 states and travel abroad. A devout Christian, Ivan served as an elder and was a member of the Eastside Church of Christ in Aurora.

Ivan is survived by his wife of 65 years, Doyle "Sugarfoot" Logan; his son, Terry (Eden) Logan of Aurora, IL; his daughter, Trena Forrer of Yorkville, IL; four grandchildren; two honorary grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; four honorary great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Family will be receiving guests on Saturday, January 27, 2018 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL 60538. Interment will be private.
