James Naru

James Naru of Oswego, Illinois passed away peacefully the morning of April 22nd 2022. James was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is preceded in death by his beautiful wife of 60 years, Jamila Naru. Together they shared three children, Rima Downs of New Hampshire, Susannah O’Neil of Illinois, and Kim Naru of California. James is also survived by his three beloved grandchildren whom he adored dearly, Trevor Downs and Gillian & Rheannon O’Neil. Additionally, he is survived by his two sons-in-law, John Downs and Gregory O’Neil. James was born in British India and led a successful career as an Army Colonel there he lived a very comfortable life. Later in life James and his wife Jamila made the ultimate sacrifice to immigrate to the USA so they could give their children a better life. James was the easiest person to love and always made everyone smile. He will be dearly missed and loved for eternity, may his soul rest in peace.
