James T. Pawlowski, 84, of North Aurora passed away on January 7, 2022. He was born September 30, 1937 the son of Rose and Henry Pawlowski. James started at Danley as an apprentice before joining the Oak Park Fire Department, where he was promoted to Lieutenant early on into his 30 year career. He also worked on the fire prevention bureau part time. On his days off, he partnered with one other firefighter in a delivery business delivering Deli meats and salads. Jim enjoyed playing hockey and loved his Chicago sports, such as the Blackhawks and the White Sox, however, the Green Bay Packers stole his heart. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting. In his retirement years, he enjoyed gardening and watching the birds eat from the bird feeder and play in the bird bath. He was very loved and his family will miss him greatly.
Jim is survived by his wife, Janet Pawlowski; daughters, Dawn (Bob) Passander, Diane Pawlowski, and Lisa (Tom) Marks; stepdaughters, Mandy (Jim) Ford, Megan (Jeff) Gabriel; 11 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; sister, Barbara Pawlowski; sister-in-law, Judie Pawlowski; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Rose and Henry Pawlowski; and his brother, Roger Pawlowski.
Family will be receiving guests on Sunday, January 9, 2022 from 10:00 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave, Montgomery, IL 60538. Interment will be private.
