Jane A Fermazin

Jane A. Fermazin, 71, a lifelong resident of Aurora passed away surrounded by her family on August 2, 2018. She was born on December 15, 1946 in Aurora, IL, the daughter of Albert and Gertrude (Rogers) Racicot. At the mere age of 13 just after her father passed away, she met Jerry Fermazin, he was just 14 years old. She often said that this was her dads blessing to her. This union would last for the next 58 years. Jane was a licensed cosmetologist and through the years taught cosmetology at John and Louis Beauty School, Hair Professionals and Mooseheart. She formed a strong bond and lifelong relationships with her students, especially those at Mooseheart, keeping in touch with many. She opened her heart and doors to so many and she touched the lives of countless people. She was lovingly referred to as Ummum by her family and friends. She enjoyed baking Christmas cookies, shopping, cooking, soap operas and bowling and she especially loved her weekly lunch dates with friends. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Rita of Cascia Catholic Church and was active in the choir. She was also a Girl Scout leader for many years.

She is survived by her loving and dedicated husband, Jerry of 53 years; daughters Colette (Gary) Ramsey and Caryn Fermazin; grandchildren,  Amanda (Nick DeCrane) Fermazin and Jordan Lair and great-granddaughter Kayla. She is also survived by her sister Joyce Bohr, special niece Sharon Sehie, who was like a sister and many other special nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Janet Nash and June Racicot (in infancy), and nephew Andrew Nash.

Family will be receiving guests on Monday, August 6th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL 60538. Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Rita of Cascia Catholic Church, 750 W. Old Indian Trail Rd., Aurora, IL 60506. Interment will be private.
