Joanne Margaret (Franke) Lindsey of Batavia, OH passed away at the age of 53 on February 17, 2018. Joanne was wife and best friend for 31 years to James N. Lindsey, and mother to two daughters, Ailis and Nora. Joanne battled Primary Peritoneal Cancer for the last 9 months, which is rare and extremely aggressive. Joanne was supported by family and friends throughout her fight. Joanne touched so many and was often called “Mom” by her daughters’ friends. She was active with Brownies, Girl Scouts, youth football cheerleading, school band, and Irish dance. She enjoyed making cakes and cookies for all kind of events, and doing crafts. Joanne made many friends during her life and left a positive impact on everyone she met. Joanne was born January 8, 1965, daughter of John and Marion Franke. She married James N. Lindsey on October 4, 1986 in Palos Hills, IL. Joanne will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Marion A. Franke, her sisters Helen (James) Clarke and Maureen Huttel, and brother John (Sarah) Franke III. Joanne will also be fondly remembered by her parents-in-law, James S. & Alberta Lindsey, brothers-in-law, Quentin (Sharron) Lindsey and Clayton (Brenda) Lindsey, and sister-in-law, Kate Lindsey. Joanne will also be forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father, John Franke Jr., niece, Victoria Miller, and her brother-in-law, Joseph Mergenthaler. We will memorialize Joanne’s life by holding services in Batavia, Ohio and Oswego, IL with her final resting place in Oswego, IL. All friends and family are welcome.
