Jose S Martinez

Jose S. Martinez, 86, of Montgomery, IL passed away Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Season’s Hospice in Naperville, IL.   He was born April 25, 1934 in Durango, Mexico, the son of Marcelino and Antonia (Cano) Martinez.

He retired from Caterpillar in 1994.  He loved his children and adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He had a passion for his horses, boxing and gardening.

He is survived by his wife, Leonila; 3 children, Charlotte (Jesse) Torres, Rafael (Imelda) Martinez and Elaine (John) Ruiz; 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 1 sister and 1 brother and many nieces and nephews.

Jose is preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 1 sister.

Family will be receiving guests on Saturday, February 20, 2021 from 10;00 until the time of services at 12 noon  Dieterle Memorial Home,1120 S Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL 60538.  Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.  Due to current restrictions a limited number of guests will be allowed in the chapel, we ask that you pay your respects in a timely fashion.
