Jose "Joe" Natividad Gonzalez

Jose Natividad “Joe” Gonzalez, 74, of Aurora passed away on March 17, 2023.

He was born in Fabens, Texas on December 9, 1948 to Doroteo and Josefa (Hernandez) Gonzalez.  He served as a Specialist 5th class in the United States Army for 5 years, including 2 tours during the Vietnam War.  Jose moved from Texas to Aurora in 1978.  He worked at the Aurora Paper Board / Rock Tenn for 33 years, retiring in 2011 and over a decade at Donino’s Foods in Aurora.

He is survived by children, Jose N. (Rose) Chavarria Sr., Steve Gonzalez, Frank Gonzalez, Richard (Sandra) Gonzalez, Joel (Rosa) Gonzalez, Ramon Lopez, Mary Hernandez and Carlos Chavarria; 17 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers; 8 sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was proceeded in death by his mother, 1 sister and 1 brother.

Family will be receiving guest on Friday, March 24, 2023, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave, Montgomery, IL 60538 with a Rosary to be recited at 4:00 PM.  A Funeral Mass will take place the following day, Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 10:30 AM at Holy Angels Church, 120 S. Lancaster Aurora, IL 60506.  A short visitation will be in the church from 10:00 AM until time of service.  Interment to be at a later date.
