Joseph "Joe" A. Fumagalli

Joseph A. "Joe" Fumagalli, 69, of Montgomery, formerly of Chicago, IL passed away on February 13, 2017. He was born on January 8, 1948 in Chicago, IL the son of John and Constance Fumagalli. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Marine Corp and was a proud member of the Oswego American Legion. Joe was a longtime member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and in retirement he dedicated much of his time to the parish. He had a passion for coaching and was loved by so many of his athletes. He adored his family and especially enjoyed his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all.

 He is survived by his wife Margaret “Cookie” of 40years; children, Val (Peter) Morales, Natalie (Joe) Scianna and Joseph R. (Kristin) Fumagalli; grandchildren, Ariana, Bella, Tone, Geno, Marco, Joey, Michael, Scarlett, Adena, Gabby, and Joey Jr., great-grandchild, Gianna, brother Larry (Joan) Fumagalli, sister, Louise Fumagalli Miller, father-in-law Bob Eklund and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother. Family will be receiving guests on Monday, February 20, 2017 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL. Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 10:30 AM at St. Peter’s Catholic Church 925 Sard Ave. Aurora, IL. Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
