Karen L. Thompson

Karen L. Thompson, 57, of Aurora passed away peacefully on August 24, 2017. She was born on November 27, 1959 in Aurora, IL the daughter of Merle and Frances Herren. Karen had a servant’s heart and was always willing to help. She loved flowers and had a passion for gardening. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, bowling and was an avid Chicago White Sox fan. She was a dedicated wife and a wonderful mother who will be deeply missed by all.
She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Edwin “Ted” Thompson; daughters, Georgia and Shaina Thompson; siblings, Joe Herren, Pat (Kevin Frank) Scaccia, Linda (Matt) Riva, Pam (Jim) Caruso, Debbie Herren, Merle Herren, Jr., Rosie (John) Hadley, Tim Herren, and Tom Herren; mother-in-law Clara Thompson and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Family will be receiving guests on Monday, August 28, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL 60538. Visitation will also take place from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM with service beginning at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 with Rev. Sharon Olson officiating at New Life Church, 1144 S. Lincoln Ave. Montgomery, IL. Interment will follow at Lincoln Memorial Park, Aurora, IL.
