Lawrence E. Ratledge II

Lawrence “Larry” Ratledge, 48, of Oswego, Illinois, passed away on July 16, 2022, surrounded by family and friends.  Born to Gene Ratledge and Brenda Linton née Strange in Pekin, Illinois.  He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Belinda; his children, Yvonne, Ainsley, and Wyatt; his siblings, Laura, Karen, Christie, Scott, Michelle, and Jessica; many nieces and nephews; his found family; and the best snaggle-toothed puggle, Roxie. 

Larry was an avid sports fan.  Opening day of baseball should have been a national holiday in his eyes.  He found great joy in coaching all his children through Park District sports and travel baseball.  Larry was a big music fan and enjoyed going to concerts, especially the Lolla after shows.  He was a great reader who was constantly learning and absorbing information.  He could watch CNBC for hours and never get bored.  Larry also had the once in a lifetime experience of appearing on the TV game show Wheel of Fortune, where he made it to the bonus round.

He was proud of his job as an Implementation Consultant at LinkedIn, an organization whose values echoed his own.  Most of all, Larry found great purpose and joy in being a husband, a father, a sibling, and a friend to many.  He was the center of a vast found family that he brought together through the years. 

He leaves behind a beautiful legacy of laughter, inclusivity, and love.
