Letitia A.“Ita” Copp (Loughery), 73, of Aurora passed away peacefully on April 12, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was born on September 6, 1944 in Derry City, Ireland. She was raised in Northern Ireland the daughter of Robert and Margaret (Harte) Loughery. She met Bill Copp while he was stationed in Ireland. They married on November 21, 1964 and together they moved back to the U.S. Ita was a devout catholic and a longtime member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. She dedicated 40 years of her life as a unit clerk in the ICU at Mercy Hospital. The likes of her will never be seen again at Mercy.  She kept very active; she volunteered as an usher at the Paramount, she enjoyed crafting, painting, shopping, bingo and the casino. Above all things in life her most treasured time was that spent with family and friends.  She had the “gift of gab” and made friends wherever she went. She will be dearly missed by all.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Bill Copp; children, Billy (Nora) Copp and Judy (Mark) Harreld; grandchildren, Amanda (Nick DeCrane) Fermazin, Brandon Copp, and Randalyn, Ryan, Sean and Rachel Harreld; 1 step great-granddaughter Kayla; sisters-in-law Dee Rowland, Marlene Smith and Ginny Copp. She is also survived by many dear nieces, nephews and countless friends in the States and in Ireland. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Don Loughery and Maura Curran.  

Family will be receiving guests on Monday on April 16, 2018 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL 60538. Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 10:30 at Holy Angels Catholic Church, corner of Hardin and Lancaster in Aurora. Interment will be private.
