Lucille E. Marquardt, 92, of Aurora passed away on March 6, 2018. She was born on May 14, 1925 in Waterman, IL the daughter of William and Bessie (Burdick) Burmester. She was raised in Hinckley, IL. On June 29, 1946 she married Lawrence Marquardt, they spent the next 70 years together before his passing in 2016. For nearly 20 years, Lucille was the assistant head cashier at A&P Grocery Store. She volunteered at Presence Mercy Medical Center for 33 years and was the gift shop treasurer. She had a passion for baking Christmas cookies and found much enjoyment traveling with her husband and family. Together she and Lawrence visited 21 countries and all 50 states. She is survived by her; children William (Imelda) Marquardt, Allen (Kathy) Marquardt, JoAnn Nightingale and Linda Marquardt; grandchildren Theresa Nightingale, Melissa (Jim) Nowak, Amy (Tyler) Mabrey, Beth (Mike) Smith, George (Amanda) Marquardt, Colette(Shena) Marquardt, John Marquardt and James Marquardt; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Inez Winn and Lois (Bill) Park and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Lawrence and brother Warren Burmester
Family will be receiving guests on Thursday, March 8, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Dieterle Memorial Home. Interment will follow at Lincoln Memorial Park, Aurora, IL.
