Manuel “Manny” Garcia, 70, of Aurora, IL passed away surrounded by his family on December 30, 2021. He was born in Atotonilco el Alto, Mexico on October 11, 1951 the son of Manuel and Josefina (Gonzalez) Garcia. Manny was a devout Catholic and longtime parishioner of Holy Angels Catholic Church. He was involved in many aspects of the church and was active as a lector, Eucharistic Minister, the Cursillo Movement, Saturday morning men’s prayer group and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #4849. He retired from Caterpillar after 35 years of dedicated service. For over 50 years he owned and operated Garcia’s Tax Service. While he retired formally, he had a strong work ethic and continued to work in his business ventures. In his pastime he enjoyed reading, cooking, gardening, and had a love and passion for golf.
He is survived by his mother, Josefina Garcia; loving wife of 28 years, Wanda (Rivera); beloved daughters, Laura (Gonzalo) Aguilar, Erika (Alex) Ramirez and Adriana (Jose) Reyes; grandchildren, Sofia, Brandon and Kevin Aguilar, Mateo, Diego, and Marco Ramirez and Camila, Natalya, and Cristiano Reyes. He is also survived by his siblings, Arturo (Cheryl) Garcia, Raphael Garcia, Guadalupe (Daniel) DeLeon, Francisco Garcia, Patricia Garcia, Martha (Javier) Esparza and Alberto Garcia and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father Manuel, in-laws, Mario and Carmen Rivera and brother, Fernando Garcia.
Family will be receiving guests on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 from 3:00 PM until the time of Rosary at 7:00 PM at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL 60538. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Holy Angels Catholic Church, Aurora, IL. Christian burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
