Maria B. Coronado 88, (nee Berlanga) and her son David B. Coronado Jr., 59, of Burleson TX., formerly from Aurora, IL, recently passed away. Dona Mari, like many called her and David B. were always full of life and together. They lived a full life! Both loved to watch movies, go to Bingo, Casino and the park. They had many friends. Dona Maria had an infectious laugh that could be heard across the room.
Maria B. was born in San Antonio TX a twin to her brother Manuel, her family moved to Mexico then she moved to Aurora Il in 1955 when she married David M. Coronado Sr. Her husband of 54 years. She worked for 15 years in the late 70’s at Han-Win Products Inc. in Aurora Il. She loved being a mom to her 4 children, her grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She decided to take an ESL class one year and ended up being the teacher’s assistant. In 2015, she moved to Burleson Texas for a bit of sunshine.
David B. was a special soul who discovered his passion for the theater while at Aurora East High School when he joined the Thespian Club. He was in the play “Bad Habits” playing the role of Dr. T. He also performed in several Main Stage and Children's Theatre productions at the Riverfront Playhouse in the 80s & 90s. He was a sweet man with a huge heart who loved performing in plays as well as singing in karaoke bars in the Fox Valley area where he won some Karaoke competitions. Many have stated that they will miss his infectious enthusiasm. He worked part-time at Luigi’s for a while, then at Asbury court a month short of 20 years in the mid 80’s only missing 1 day of work. In 2007, David met “The Browns” who befriended him at Phillips Park Sunset Movies at the Park. David would send a Christmas card to the Browns with a suggestion list of movies for the following summer. He proudly wore the Sunset shirt or hoodie to all the events and at the end of each season, he would show up with a rose for The Browns little girls and chocolates for the guys. He always spoke highly of the Brown Family and kept in touch until his passing.
