Maria DeJesus Salinas

Maria De Jesus Salinas, 82, passed away at her home on Wednesday March 7, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 25, 1935 in Dr. Gonzalez NL, Mexico, daughter of Aurelio and Maria DeJesus (Martinez) Gutierrez.  She worked for Swift Premium Foods meat processing plant for over 28 years.  She enjoyed watching all the soap operas on Univision, cheering on the Chicago Bears and boxing matches when they were broadcasted on WFLD- Channel 32, but most of all she enjoyed cooking for gatherings where they would celebrate birthdays, anniversaries or just being with family.  She is survived by 1 son, Fernando (Gloria) Salinas Jr.; 2 daughters, Maricela (Martin) Martinez and Rosa (Gonzalo Jr.) Saucedo; 1 daughter-in- law, Maria De La Luz Salinas; 17 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and 3 brothers, Martin (the late Amanda), Jose’ Angel (Rosalinda) and Jesus (Mary)and Sister-in-law, Petra Gutierrez.  Many nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Fernando, Sr.; one son, Juan Angel Salinas Sr.;  3 brothers, Santiago (the late Cira) Gutierrez and Felix (the late Agustina) Gutierrez and Aurelio Gutierrez Jr. ; 2 sisters, Josefa (the late Modesto) Montemayor and Maria Del Refugio (the late Fidencio) Rodriguez. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Dieterle Memorial Home 1120 S. Broadway Montgomery, IL.
