Marie Frances Mc CLain

Marie Francis (Mighell) McClain, 91, of Oswego, passed away on December 2nd, 2022 into the arms of her savior with her sons by her side.  Marie was born June 22, 1931, the only child of Frank & Ethel Austinsen (Mighell) the descendants of the first settlers of Sugar Grove, Illinois.  Mom was a graduate of East Aurora HS (49), Steven’s finishing school and further education at Northwestern University School of commerce, where she was a member of Epsilon Eta phi sorority. Mom was a member of First Presbyterian where she served as a deacon and was also employed at the church’s financial secretary for 21 years.  Prior to being employed by the church she worked for Ear Little & Sons, a general contractor for 20 years. Mom was a member of the National Association of church business administrators, Alpha Beta Phi business Sorority, for.  Mom belonged to the Prisco Friendly Center, Kane county senior citizen’s Org.  Mom loved golf, stock market, Fanny May candy and games of all kinds. She is survived by two sons, Scott McClain of Oswego and Mark McClain of Fairview NC three granddaughters Haley Marie McClain (Josh) of Kenosha WI. Lacey Ann McClain of Fairview, TN and Caroline McClain Lively of Matthews NC.  Two great grandsons, Mason & Maxwell Lively and several nieces, cousins, treasured friends and her precious caregiver Sue. Marie was proceeded in death by her husband of 45 years, Jerry D. McClain (2005) and by her parents. Family will be receiving guests Thursday December 8, 2022 from 12:00pm until time of service at 2:00pm at First Presbyterian Church, 325 E. Downer Place, Aurora. Burial will be at Jericho Cemetery on Mighell Road in Sugar Grove, IL.
